Privacy Policy

ETF Dividend Tracker (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates etfdividendtracker.com (the “Site”) and related tools that analyze dividend activity from files you upload. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: September 6, 2025

1) What we collect

Files you upload or paste. CSV or similar files (e.g., brokerage transaction history) you provide for analysis. We do not request your brokerage login or API credentials.
Derived data. Results produced from your files (e.g., per-ticker totals, date ranges, charts).
Payment & billing. When you pay, our processor (Stripe) collects necessary information (card details, billing info). We receive limited data from Stripe (e.g., payment status, amount, your email, and a payment ID)—not your full card number.
Basic device data. Standard web logs such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps to keep the service secure and functioning.
Optional communications. If you email us or subscribe to updates, we receive your contact details and message content.

2) How your uploads are handled

Default (client-side processing). Our app is designed to parse your CSV in your browser so your file does not leave your device by default.
Server processing (when needed). Certain features (e.g., generating downloadable reports, troubleshooting, or future account-based features) may require temporary server processing or storage. Where this applies, we’ll clearly indicate it before you proceed.
No brokerage credentials. We never ask for your brokerage passwords or direct account access. Do not send them to us.

3) How we use information

We use your information to:
provide, operate, and improve the analysis tools and Site;
process payments and deliver purchased features;
prevent fraud, abuse, or technical issues, and maintain security;
respond to your inquiries and provide support;
comply with legal obligations.

4) Payment processing

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe acts as an independent controller or processor of your payment data under its own privacy policy. We receive payment confirmations and limited billing metadata from Stripe. We do not store full credit-card numbers on our servers.

5) Third-party services and data sources

Financial Modeling Prep (FMP). We may query FMP for public market or dividend information.
Google Sheets (publicly published). If you provide a published-to-web Google Sheet, we may fetch it as CSV.
Hosting & infrastructure. We use standard hosting, caching, and error-logging services to run the Site.
These providers process data on our behalf under their terms. We do not sell your personal information.

6) Cookies and similar technologies

Essential cookies keep the Site secure and functioning (e.g., session/CSRF).
No tracking ads. If we later add analytics or non-essential cookies, we will update this Policy and, where required, request consent.

7) Data retention

Uploads/outputs. For client-side analysis, files remain on your device. If you use a feature that saves data to our servers, we retain it only as long as needed for the stated purpose (or as required by law) and then delete or de-identify it.
Payment records. We keep the records we must for tax, accounting, and compliance.

8) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9) Your choices & rights

Access/Deletion. If we hold your personal data (e.g., an account email or stored report), you can request access or deletion.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). We do not “sell” personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. You may request to know, delete, or correct personal information we maintain about you.
EEA/UK residents (GDPR). Where GDPR applies, our legal bases may include contract (to provide the service), legitimate interests (security, improvement), and consent (where requested). You may have rights to access, delete, correct, port, restrict, or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

10) Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11) International users

Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

12) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll change the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
